SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) is an open standard that simplifies user identity management across different applications. Kombo supports SCIM to enable seamless and automated synchronization of user and group information from Identity Providers (IDPs) like Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, and others. SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) is an open standard that simplifies user identity management across different applications. Kombo supports integrating to Identity Providers (IDPs) using the SCIM standard such as Azure Active Directory and Okta, enabling synchronization of user and group information. By using SCIM with Kombo, your customers can automatically provision and de-provision users and manage their attributes and group memberships within their HR systems, all through a standardized interface. This eliminates manual user management and ensures consistent data across systems.

When a customer sets up a SCIM integration with Kombo, their Identity Provider (the SCIM client) will push user and group data to Kombo’s SCIM endpoint (the SCIM server). Kombo then processes this data and makes it available in our unified data model, just like all other integrations.

SCIM integrations are currently exclusively available to our enterprise-tier customers. If you’re interested in establishing a connection, please get in touch with us for assistance in setting it up.

Potential Benefits

Automated User Management for End Customers

SCIM automates the creation, modification, and deletion of user accounts. When a user is added, updated, or removed in the Identity Provider, these changes are automatically reflected in Kombo and subsequently in connected HR systems. This reduces administrative overhead and ensures data accuracy.

Industry Standard Integration

SCIM is a widely adopted industry standard for identity management. Integrating with Kombo via SCIM ensures compatibility with a broad range of Identity Providers and future-proofs your integration strategy.

Granular Data Control

SCIM allows Identity Providers to explicitly define which user attributes and group memberships are shared with Kombo. This gives your customers control over the data being synchronized, ensuring compliance and data privacy.
